3 Reasons to Love Queen of Green Hot Sauce
- Key limes!
- Ghost peppers, without overbearing heat
- Tropical taste would make a great ceviche
Pepper Nectar Queen of Green Hot Sauce (5 oz)
Pepper Nectar is based in beautiful Southwest Florida -- and this Queen of Green hot sauce is full of Florida flavors.
Although it's not quite like eating a slice of Key Lime pie, the Key Lime flavors are definitely present. This is a sweet and bright sauce that will perk up any dish where a little sweetness or citrus flavors would be appropriate -- and the cider vinegar adds its own touch of fruit flavors, as well.
Despite the fact that there are ghost peppers in the mix, like many green sauces this sauce is not terribly hot. A word of caution on that, though: Pepper Nectar rates this as a 7 out of 10 on their heat scale, so it's possible that our review bottle was a little less hot than most -- and since even individual peppers from the same plant can vary in their heat, that does happen from time to time.
All of that said, Pepper Nectar's Queen of Green hot sauce is definitely unique, and a great twist on both key lime and verde hot sauces, which typically feature tomatillas and jalapeños. Try this on eggs, especially when paired with melon or other fruit. It will also go great with any seafood dish that has a tropical or Pacific flair -- we're thinking ceviche here, but let your imagination run wild. Grab some now and find the taste of Florida!
