High River Rogue Hot Sauce:
High River calls its blend of Moruga scorpions, ghost peppers, and red serranos an "unprincipled blend of the hottest peppers in the world." But there's definitely a principle here: This hot sauce is smack-you-in-the-face ultra hot, without using any capsicum extracts to get there.
That said, this hot sauce is also deliciously fruit-forward, with blood orange, applesauce (yep!), pears, and lime all bathing in an apple cider vinegar base. Finish that with brown sugar and a little ginger and garlic, and this is a hot sauce that brings both extreme heat and extreme flavor.
We've struggled really hard to come up with a play on words around "Rogue," but nothing we've come up with has been up to our standards of wordplay and punnery. Ah well.
